Program Overview

Foundation Program

Designed specifically for international students, the UWA Foundation program will help students improve their subject knowledge and English language skills. Students can progress to Year 1 of any undergraduate degree at The University of Western Australia (UWA) upon successful completion to the required level.

Leading to: Bachelor of Environmental Science / Bachelor of Arts (Dual Degree)

In a competitive employment market, you will maximise your career options by developing in-demand technical skills in the field of environmental science along with transferable communication and critical thinking skills that employers are looking for. You will graduate with two qualifications, having cut two years off the time it takes you to study two degrees. If you decide either degree isn’t right for you, you can exit one and complete the other.

Bachelor of Environmental Science

The Bachelor of Environmental Science teaches understanding, rational analysis, and improvement of human impacts on the natural world. These outcomes are achieved through critical review of current knowledge, systematic observation, experimentation, modelling, and rigorous data analysis. Graduates in Environmental Science have strong theoretical knowledge, combined with practical and creative skills, equipping them with wide-ranging expertise, allowing them to solve diverse and emerging environmental problems and to communicate unbiased information to the wider community. The advanced skills and knowledge developed and demonstrated by graduates are highly valued by a range of local and international employers. Graduating students will be both competitive in the employment market and well-prepared for further study in environmental science disciplines.

Extended Major : Environmental Science and Management

Environmental science assesses the impact of human activity on the global environment and develops scientific, risk-based solutions to help secure a sustainable future. As a student of the Environmental Science and Management extended major, you will be trained to apply scientific, economic and regulatory knowledge to help society resolve global conflicts such as climate change, deforestation and water pollution.

Bachelor of Arts

UWA's Bachelor of Arts is one of the most flexible and diverse degrees in Western Australia, with over 30 majors, including Political Science and International Relations, History, Philosophy, and a range of European and Asian languages. With majors in humanities and social sciences, music, and design, including the interdisciplinary majors of Gender Studies and Criminology, our Bachelor of Arts lets you cultivate your passions while providing you with the lifelong, transferable skills that employers are seeking, giving you an immediate competitive edge in pursuit of a career. You will graduate with the skills to address complex social issues, integrate local and global knowledge and perspectives, collaborate across disciplinary, organisational and cultural boundaries, and perform human processes that cannot be mechanised or automated.

Major: Classics and Ancient History

Classics and Ancient History is the study of history, languages and literature of the Greek and Roman civilisations. This major combines all these aspects of the two civilisations to give you a holistic picture of this vibrant and eternally relevant era.
