Program Overview

Degree Transfer Program Extended
Our specialised Degree Transfer Program is equivalent to the first year of a bachelor’s degree at the University of Adelaide. You can follow your path to a range of business, IT, computer science, science undergraduate degrees and more when you join the University in second year.

Why study with us?

  • We offer a wide range of courses taught to the University’s syllabus. You’ll learn content relevant to your degree and receive full credit for all university-level courses.
  • You’ll be provided with English language and learning support to assist you while you’re studying the Degree Transfer Program.
  • As our graduate, you won’t be required to provide further evidence of your English language proficiency.
  • You’ll have the flexibility of studying a Degree Transfer Program in one of three formats: extended, standard or accelerated.

Leading to: Bachelor of Science
The Bachelor of Science lets you design your own degree based on your strengths and emerging interests. From Chemistry to Palaeontology, Genetics to Geophysics... we support your scientific curiosity.

What will you do?
Whether you want to use your critical thinking to help drive global change or join the cutting-edge of research, our Bachelor of Science will give you the skills you need. You will:

  • Become an adaptable scientist as you learn the skills to evolve with one of the fastest-growing sectors
  • Learn from world-class researchers who are experts in their field
  • Develop connections in the science world through internships
  • Engage with new ideas through discovery and experiential learning
  • Develop in-depth discipline knowledge through a major
  • Build highly sought-after skills in communication, critical thinking and creative problem solving
  • Access research facilities of international significance.

Major: Ecology and Environmental Science
Ecosystems are a complex and delicate balance of nature. Even the slightest change can prove disruptive. Ecologists research the interrelationship between organisms and their environment and make decisions which reduce our impact on the world around us.

By studying ecology as a major, you will develop expertise in the lab and learn through extensive experience out in the field. You will learn from nationally and internationally acclaimed researchers as you:

  • Study local and global ecosystems, including how plants and animals respond to environmental challenges and climate change
  • Use advanced technology, including satellite imagery, GIS and spatial simulation modelling, to track ecosystems and forecast the impact of biodiversity shifts in natural systems
  • Investigate the diversity of life on earth and the relationships between organisms and their environments
  • Learn about plants and animals, their conservation and management, and physiology and evolution, including those in terrestrial, freshwater and marine systems
  • Gain unparalleled access to the SA Museum and State Herbarium staff, samples and specimens, and research opportunities
  • Take advantage of the co-located Environment Institute and Centre for Applied Conservation Science
