Foundation Studies Program Standard
Our Foundation Studies Program provides you with a pathway to follow your dreams of studying business, IT, engineering, medicine, nursing and much more at the University of Adelaide. If your qualifications need a boost, we are here for you!

Program Benefits

  • For students studying in Adelaide, once you achieve your required progression score, you are guaranteed entry to your packaged degree, and, for most bachelor’s degrees, you won’t need to provide any further English language evidence.
  • For students studying in Melbourne, after completing your Foundation Studies Program, you will continue your pathway studies as a University of Adelaide College student undertaking a Degree Transfer Program.
  • We will ensure that you understand all the additional entry requirements for dentistry, oral health, medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology and veterinary science.
  • The University will issue you a packaged Confirmation of Enrolment for the entire duration of study at the College and the University.
  • You will be flexible in studying a standard (34 teaching weeks) or accelerated (31 teaching weeks) Foundation Studies Program. In addition to weekly class attendance, students are also expected to complete 20-25 hours per week of independent learning.

Our Bachelor of Computer Science features artificial intelligence and machine learning courses not available anywhere else in South Australia. It’s taught by world-class researchers and teachers within a faculty ranked 41 in the world for computer science and engineering.

What will you do?
Depending on your chosen major, you will:

  • Explore self-driving cars, robotic vision, machine learning and image recognition
  • Learn how to protect networks, data and software systems from attack and unlawful access
  • Apply cutting-edge data analysis techniques—such as machine and deep learning—to large sets of data
  • Design, make and study large-scale distributed software systems, including parallel, mobile and cloud-based environments.

The computer networking industry is growing rapidly, creating high demand for professionals with specialist knowledge. Build skills in the design, development, and analysis of large-scale distributed software systems including parallel, distributed, mobile, cloud-based environments and building smart cities.

    Scholarships

    The University of Adelaide College International Scholarship rewards the international graduates of the University of Adelaide College.

     

    This scholarship is:

    • Available for graduates of the University of Adelaide College commencing at the University of Adelaide.
    • Open to citizens of any country (except Australia and New Zealand); and
    • Provides a waiver of 10% of the annual tuition fee for each year of the program for the full duration of the degree.

     

    Value
    The scholarship offers a 10% tuition fee reduction for the minimum standard full-time duration of the scholar's chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree.

     

    Eligibility
    To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

    • Be a graduate of the University of Adelaide College;
    • Have a University of Adelaide offer of admission (full offer or conditional offer) as a full-fee-paying international student;
    • Enrol in a full time study load for each study period of the degree;
    • Complete the acceptance process as outlined in your offer of admission.

    Note: Scholarship applicants who are eligible for more than one scholarship offered by the University of Adelaide will only be entitled to receive one scholarship (the highest value scholarship award for which they are eligible).

     

    Exclusions
    The following applicants are not eligible to receive these scholarships:

    • Current University of Adelaide students who are transferring from one degree to another prior to successful completion of their program of study (internal transfers)
    • Students who are recipients of a scholarship covering tuition fees awarded by a recognised scholarship awarding body such as a government ministry or department
    • Applicants for Masters by Research or Phd programs;
    • Applicants for certain programs; see the scholarship terms and conditions for a list of excluded degrees.
