Program Overview

Students who have already completed Year 12 (or equivalent) may start with the Stage 2 Diploma, which has the same course content and structure as year one of the corresponding Curtin University undergraduate degree. Upon completion of your Diploma, you will progress directly into the second year of your Curtin University Bachelor's degree program.


Stage2 - Diploma of Engineering
Engineers can find themselves working in many different disciplines and environments, from overseeing maintenance operations to designing and building engineered solutions, the range of career options is vast, varied and challenging.

The Diploma of Engineering offers students an industry-connected experience, uniquely placed to provide solutions to the challenges faced by the global community. Curtin College will provide you with the skills and knowledge to enable you to commence the academic studies you will need for your career in engineering.


Leading to: Bachelor of Engineering
Curtin’s Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) offers you an industry-connected education experience in which you will learn how to provide solutions to complex societal challenges and improve the quality of life for people all around the world.


Major: Industrial and Systems Engineering
Industrial and systems engineers design, install and improve systems that integrate people, materials, equipment, energy, information and finance – all while ensuring that quality, safety, environment and human needs are met. They utilise engineering management techniques with the principles and methods of engineering design and analysis to evaluate and predict the results of change.

Industrial and systems engineers are also key members of teams responsible for timing, costing, layouts, process flows, equipment requirements, plant operations and whole systems – including manufacturing facilities, supply chains, transportation networks and warehouses.

This engineering major incorporates units from engineering, sustainability, management and industrial mathematics.

You will gain specialised theoretical knowledge and practical foundations in engineering design, manufacturing, quality, systems engineering, control, operations research, practice and management, modelling, simulation and optimisation of industrial processes.

Graduates are frontline engineers for the rapid expansion from basic time and motion analysis to digitised automation of operations, maintenance, production monitoring, driverless trucks and unmanned aerial vehicles.

    Diploma Higher Achiever Scholarship:

    • Available for new international students
    • Applies to all Diploma Courses
    • Covers 15% of any study period based on attaining 65% CWA on the previous study period.
    • To retain eligibility for the Scholarship, students must maintain 65% CWA.

    Year 2 Bachelor Degree: Curtin University will be giving 12% to all students who achieved 65% CWA.


    MQP Progression Scholarship:

    • 25% Merit Scholarship for Year 1 of the Master Program with CWA
