Leading to: Bachelor of Arts (Aboriginal Studies)
The Bachelor of Arts (Aboriginal Studies) will prepare you to engage thoughtfully with Aboriginal Australians, and will provide you with a broad understanding of issues pertinent to Aboriginal people and communities. You will develop an understanding of the complex interface between Aboriginal knowledges and Western knowledge, perspectives, and practices, and engage in critical dialogues with the many voices and priorities of Aboriginal Peoples and communities.

  • Aboriginal knowledges and cultures
  • Aboriginal history and colonialism
  • Aboriginal governance structures and nation building
  • Globalisation, national and international trends in relation to Aboriginal peoples
  • Caring for Country and its role in Aboriginal heritage issues.

This degree will give you the knowledge and skills to think critically about the various issues impacting Indigenous communities locally, nationally, and globally, and will enable you to engage thoughtfully with Aboriginal communities and contribute to ethical and professional practice.

    Scholarships

    Graduate Scholarship

    The SAIBT Graduate Scholarship is now open to applicants currently offshore in South Asia and Africa who will be commencing in our June intake in 2024. Applicants who meet the scholarship criteria will receive AUD$4,000 towards their packaged UniSA program.

    Scholarship Criteria

    • This scholarship is offered to new international offshore applicants packaged with the Diploma and Early Transition Program only who accept their packaged SAIBT/UniSA Offer to study this June 2024 intake.
    • The SAIBT Graduate Scholarship is offered to students who successfully complete their SAIBT Diploma or Early Transition Program and graduate to UniSA into the Bachelor program for which they accepted their packaged Offer
    • The SAIBT Graduate Scholarship allocation of AUD$4,000 will be applied automatically to UniSA
      upon successful graduation of their SAIBT Diploma or Early Transition Program and commencement at UniSA.
    • The student must be eligible to study in Australia and have a current student visa.
    • The student must meet the Academic and English entry requirements, and any other conditions of enrolment for their chosen Diploma or Early Transition Program to be eligible for the Graduate Scholarship.
    • SAIBT Admissions will automatically allocate the Graduate Scholarship to students who accept their offer before:
      • South Asia – Wednesday 20 March 2024
      • Africa – Wednesday 13 March 2024
    • Late payment or acceptance will not be accepted, and the scholarship will be withdrawn.
    • Where the student applies to defer or change their studies at any point of their packaged program, SAIBT reserves the right to re-assess the applicant’s circumstances and adjust or cancel the scholarship accordingly.
    • To be eligible for the scholarship, students must complete their study plan in keeping with the Offer they accepted and were awarded this scholarship.
    • Only applicants from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Africa are eligible for this scholarship.
    • Recipients of the SAIBT Graduate Scholarship will not be entitled to the Family Bursary, or any other scholarship, bursary, incentive, or discount.
