If you don’t yet meet the entry requirements for the UC course you’re aiming for, UC College’s diplomas –  also known as higher education diplomas – will provide you with an introduction to your chosen study area. They act as an alternative entry pathway for admission to UC undergraduate courses and prepare you for university study.

Diploma of Health
Are you interested in pursuing a career in health? Our Diploma in Health at the University of Canberra is designed as a pathway into a range of health-related degrees such as Health Administration, Health Promotion, Public Health or Sports Administration. With a variety of employment opportunities available in both health and community organisations, studying a Diploma in Health will provide you with the skills to succeed in an ever-valuable industry.

Study a Diploma in Health at UC and you will:

  • Develop an awareness of core health principles to contemporary health issues
  • Understand and apply effective basic technical and communication skills for health professionals
  • Develop relevant skills for further learning in a variety of health disciplines
  • Gain skills in critical thinking and analysis of information in a health care context.

On successful completion of the Diploma of Health, you’ll receive up to 24 credit points (one year) of advanced standing into the second year of the following Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Canberra.

Bachelor of Science in Psychology
Discover the science behind how and why people think, feel, and behave the way they do with the UC Bachelor of Science in Psychology. In this course, you will learn how to use science and evidence-based practice to understand human behaviour in a wide range of settings. 

In only three years, you will learn the foundations of psychology and gain the knowledge, understanding and the contacts to go on to explore a range of career and study opportunities once you graduate

This course is especially advantageous to those studying double-degrees in law, business, and sport & exercise science – alternatively you can choose to do a secondary major in many areas, including counselling, health science, and sports. 

Study a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at UC and you will:

  • Be introduced to the latest theory, practice, and research in a diverse range of areas of psychology including developmental, physiological, social, and cognitive
  • Focus on applied psychology and research
  • Be able to choose elective units in sport and performance psychology, health psychology, and forensic psychology
  • Gain transferable skills that are highly sought after by a diverse range of employers including critical analysis, communication, problem solving, teamwork, and research
  • Graduate from a fully accredited course and be eligible for entry into professional postgraduate training courses in clinical and other areas of psychology

Work Integrated Learning
Work-integrated learning (WIL) is an integral component of the Bachelor of Science in Psychology journey as it gives students the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience and build professional relationships through real work, or work-like placements.

This, in turn, enhances each student’s confidence, employability and reinforces our commitment to preparing professional and highly employable graduates with the right mix of skills, knowledge, and experience.

In this course, you will undertake a minimum of 120 hours of practical education where you will work with, and alongside experienced and skilled industry mentors within a local, national or international working environment.

    Scholarships

    International Scholarships 2023 T3 & 2024 T1/S1 : Up To $6,000

    Early acceptance scholarship: Up to $2,000

    • Students MUST accept and enrol by 1 Sept 2023 (T3) & 8 Jan 2024 (T1/S1) to receive the scholarship.
    • UC College will offer a one-off $2,000 scholarship for International Foundation or Diploma Programs, or Graduate Certificate in Academic Foundations (GCAF).
    • Available to both onshore and offshore international students for Trimester 3, 2023 & Trimester 1/ Semester 1, 2024 intake only.
    • Students must remain enrolled until Friday week 4of class (after census date) to be eligible.

    Academic Merit Scholarship: $4,000

    • Students who have weighted average mark above 70% or comparable in their final year of secondary school.
    • $4,000 tuition fee reduction on International Foundation or Diploma Programs at UC College.
    • Available to both onshore and offshore international students for Trimester 3, 2023 & Trimester 1/Semester 1, 2024 intake only.
    • Students must remain enrolled until Friday week 4 of class (after census date) to be eligible.

    ELICOS Scholarship

    • 15% Scholarship on ELICOS weekly rate for international students when packaged with a UC College and/or University of Canberra courses.
    • Scholarship available for all intakes in 2023 and intakes before 30 June 2024.
    • Sponsored or diplomatic students are excluded.

    Terms & Conditions

    • Limited places available for UC College scholarships. Scholarships are subject to change without notice.
    • Scholarship amounts are shown in Australian Dollars (AUD).
    • Scholarships cannot be transferred to other intakes.
    • Scholarships will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis and students may be eligible for more than one type of scholarship or bursary.
    • Sponsored or diplomatic students are not eligible.
    • Academic course is either a University of Canberra International Foundation Studies, UC College Diploma, or Graduate Certificate in Academic Foundations.
    • Students must remain enrolled until Friday week 4 of class (after census date) to be eligible.
