They act as an alternative entry pathway for admission to UC undergraduate courses and prepare you for university study.

Diploma of Information Technology
The Diploma in Information Technology gains you entry into UC’s bachelor degrees in IT, software engineering or business informatics, and is the perfect place to start your IT journey.

Study a Diploma in Information Technology at UC and you will:

On successful completion of the Diploma of Information Technology, you’ll receive up to 24 credit points (one year) of advanced standing into the second year of the following Bachelor of Information Technology at the University of Canberra.

Bachelor of Information Technology

Information Technology and gain the skills and expertise to design, develop and manage computer-based information systems. Explore the theory behind software applications, hardware and computer networks, while getting industry experience through UC’s practical Work Integrated Learning (WIL). 

Become an expert in an area of your choice, with specialisations in Cloud Computing and the Internet of Things, Cybersecurity and System Administration, Data Science, or Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.

After graduation, you'll be prepared for industries booming with job growth, offering careers in project management, cloud computing, cybersecurity, machine learning and more, with the flexibility to work across different industries.

This course is accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS).

Work-integrated learning (WIL) is an integral component of the Bachelor of Information Technology journey as it gives students the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience and build professional relationships through real work, or work-like placements.

This, in turn, enhances each student’s confidence, employability and reinforces the university’s commitment to preparing professional and highly employable graduates with the right mix of skills, knowledge, and experience.
