Information and Communications Technology (ICT) has penetrated into all areas of industry sectors, such as retail, banking, health and education. ICT professionals are required to have cross disciplinary knowledge and skills, while the speed of change in ICT requires professionals to update their knowledge and skills every few years. Western Sydney University recognises this and our Postgraduate ICT course reflects the changing landscape.

The course concentrates on developing and extending your knowledge needed for ICT roles within the fast-growing ICT industry and other relevant industry sectors. This is reflected in our specialisations and units that cover core ICT discipline topics such as Networking, and Web and Mobile Computing.


Major: Web and Mobile Computing

The widespread deployment of web and mobile devices has made them a target of choice for companies to carry out their everyday business. The contemporary developers are expected to understand the strengths and limitations of web and mobile technologies and fit these to create successful user-friendly web and/or mobile applications. This specialisation is aimed at developing knowledge and skills in theoretical concepts and practical technologies needed to design and develop complex software applications across a range of web and mobile platforms. Students with these knowledge and skills will have greater prospects of finding employment with reputable companies or building their career as self-employed developers.

    • $3,000 multiyear scholarship for all students who meet minimum entry criteria into Western Sydney University, up to a maximum of 3 years.
    •  Admissions will assess all cases for scholarship and include on the Letter of Offer.
    •  First instalment of scholarship will apply in the students next study session as long as they have completed 30 credit points (3 units).
    •  Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 4 or higher for the duration of their scholarship.
    • $6,000 multiyear scholarship eligibility criteria as follows:
    • India CBSE 75% in best 4 subjects
    • India HSC (State Board): 80% in best 4 subjects
    • India School Certificate: 75% in best 4 subjects
    • Sri Lanka: 4 from best 3 Sri Lankan GCE A' Level subjects

    Admissions will assess all cases for scholarship and include on the Letter of Offer.
    First instalment of scholarship will apply in the students next study session as long as they have completed 30 credit points (3 units).
    Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 4 or higher for the duration of their scholarship.

     

    Scholarships for 2025 are finalised and will remain the same for undergraduate and postgraduate programs for Sydney City Campus programs. Information on the new multi-year scholarships of $3,000 and $6,000 and the Terms and Conditions will be updated soon.
