Program Overview

Foundation Studies Program (Fast-Track)
Foundation Studies programs are a direct academic pathway to first-year undergraduate degree study, or equivalent. The programs act as a bridging course for international students who wish to study a university undergraduate degree course but don’t yet meet academic requirements and/or have the English language skills for tertiary study.

The Program is also designed to allow students to experience a focused study in an area of special interest or in specific disciplines that will better prepare them to study across the various sectors of their selected university course. It also helps students set and articulate goals and improve their self-management capabilities and confidence.

Leading to: Bachelor of Biomedicine in Medical Sciences
Our biomedicine course is designed and taught by active medical researchers at the Tasmanian School of Medicine and the School of Health Sciences. It also draws on the expertise of our specialist research and teaching institutes: the Menzies Institute for Medical Research, and the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre.

As the single university for Tasmania, we provide unparalleled access and connection to the local community, health system, and institutes. This means that throughout your studies you are learning from experts who are directly engaged with the health sector both locally, nationally, and internationally.
