Foundation Studies Program (Standard)
Foundation Studies programs are a direct academic pathway to first-year undergraduate degree study, or equivalent. The programs act as a bridging course for international students who wish to study a university undergraduate degree course but don’t yet meet academic requirements and/or have the English language skills for tertiary study.

The Program is also designed to allow students to experience a focused study in an area of special interest or in specific disciplines that will better prepare them to study across the various sectors of their selected university course. It also helps students set and articulate goals and improve their self-management capabilities and confidence.

Leading to: Bachelor of Marine and Antarctic Science
Our Marine and Antarctic Science degree is the only one of its kind in Australia and is offered at one of the best places in the world for temperate marine studies. It gives you the skills and knowledge for a career in the exciting, growing and globally critical marine, fisheries, aquaculture, and Antarctic sectors.

If you enjoy the natural and physical sciences, you can combine your passion for science with a love of the outdoors and adventure. This could be by pursuing a career in research, or in a more applied way through the sustainable aquaculture industry. For those interested in politics and policy, the world needs experts who understand the complexities of our marine environments to help set marine and Antarctic governance, working with countries, governments and private business all over the world towards common, sustainable goals.

Major: Marine and Antarctic Governance
Solving complex geopolitical environmental issues requires an understanding of the science at the core of issues and communicating this information to government in a compelling way to inform policy.
