International Year One (UTP Stage II): Arts and Social Sciences

International Year One (UTP Stage II): Arts and Social Sciences is equivalent to the first year of SFU’s Bachelor of Arts degree. It provides the foundation for further study in many areas such as economics, English, international studies, political science, psychology, linguistics and criminology. International Year One (UTP Stage II) will help you choose the area in which you wish to specialize for your Bachelor of Arts.

FIC 2024-2025 New Student Scholarship

FIC is committed to help new students with their applications. For students who apply to study at FIC in 2024/2025, FIC awards fifty students with the FIC 2024/2025 New Student Scholarship.

Scholarship award Value Eligibility Conditions Selection Criteria
The Scholarship award is equivalent to $2,000 CAD

Applicants must:

  • Must have a valid FIC letter of offer
  • Scholarship interview with an FIC staff
  • During the interview, you will elaborate on the following topics:
    • Why did you choose Vancouver as your study destination?
    • Why did you choose FIC as your study destination?
    • What’s the first thing you want to experience in Canada?
    • Why did you choose your program of study?
  • Student must be willing to be profiled on FIC’s social media and website platforms.
  • The scholarship applies to academic studies completed for an undergraduate program with FIC. Students are liable to pay for the remainder of their semester course fees.
  • Successful recipients will not receive any money from Navitas member institution. The value of the scholarship will be recorded on the student’s tuition account during their semester of study for an undergraduate program with FIC.
  • Scholarships are not transferable to other students or Navitas member institutes in any circumstances.
  • Navitas member institutions reserves the right not to award all or some of the scholarships in a given year.
  • Scholarships cannot be backdated.
