Program Overview

UTP Stage II: Engineering Science provides first-year courses and the foundation for progression to the second year of SFU's School of Engineering Science degrees. Students enrolled in an Engineering Science degree program at SFU complete three terms of full-time paid work experience during their degree.

You must complete a minimum of 10 academic courses at FIC with a program GPA of 2.75 (including a C- or better in all required courses), and a CGPA of 2.75 or better on all attempted UTP Stage II courses, in order to be guaranteed admission to the School of Engineering Science. Course offerings and required courses may change without notice. Students will need to obtain a score of 26 or above in the FIC Math Check test to enrol in the Engineering Science program. FIC reserves the right to place students with a Math Check score below 26 in alternative courses.

The Scholarship award is 1500-$4000 Applicants must:
♦ Must have a valid FIC letter of offer
♦ Scholarship interview with an FIC staff
♦ During the interview, you will elaborate on the following topics:
♦ Why did you choose Vancouver as your study destination?
♦ Why did you choose FIC as your study destination?
♦ What’s the first thing you want to experience in Canada?
♦ Why did you choose your program of study?
♦ Student must be willing to be profiled on FIC’s social media and website platforms.
♦ The scholarship applies to academic studies completed for an undergraduate program with FIC. Students are liable to pay for the remainder of their semester course fees.
♦ Successful recipients will not receive any money from Navitas member institution. The value of the scholarship will be recorded on the student’s tuition account during their semester of study for an undergraduate program with FIC.
♦ Scholarships are not transferable to other students or Navitas member institutes in any circumstances.
♦ Navitas member institutions reserves the right not to award all or some of the scholarships in a given year.
♦ Scholarships cannot be backdated.
