Program Overview

International Year One (UTP Stage II)

International Year One (UTP Stage II): Business Management is equivalent to the first year of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Bachelor of Business Management degree.

Upon the successful completion of International Year One (UTP Stage II), you’ll begin the second year of your degree at TMU, where you’ll have access to industry experts, an optional co-op program, case competitions and networking events to strengthen and put your skills to work in professional environments. Study in the heart of Canada’s business district with faculty committed to?ground breaking?teaching strategies that combine theory and practice.

Leading to: Bachelor of Commerce - Law and Business

Critical thinking and the application of legal knowledge are at the heart of all courses offered in the Law and Business major, which provides you with the strongest integration of law and business among all Bachelor of Commerce programs in Canada. You and your fellow Law majors at the Ted Rogers School of Management at Toronto Metropolitan University are trained to identify and frame organizational problems from a legal perspective, but to develop business solutions. After finishing this program, you will be able to engage with and contribute to the growing needs of professionals who seek to ensure an organization’s regulatory and legal standards are met or exceeded.

Our faculty members are international experts in their fields but know more than just theory – they have extensive legal and business experience. As a result, students enjoy more absorbing in-class discussions and obtain a clearer picture of the many career and graduate opportunities available in the field. Your knowledge of the law will be valuable when dealing with many of the standard areas of business, such as contract negotiations, human resources, risk management, policy development and property transactions, as well as those of increasing importance to business operations, such as corporate social responsibility and corporate governance.
