Program Overview

The Canadian employment market for veterinary technicians has never been better, especially in the Western provinces where demand far outstrips supply. If you have a genuine interest in animals and enjoy working with people, then this program may be for you. As a veterinary technician, you will become a valuable member of an animal health care team. You will be fully trained and qualified to work under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian in large animal, companion animal, specialty and equine practices. Graduates will also find employment in zoos, research laboratories, livestock operations, sales, wildlife rehabilitation centers, animal hospitals and animal shelters.

    • Grade 11 or 12 Academic Math Level* with a minimum average of 65%
    • Grade 11 or 12 Chemistry and/or Physics* is considered an asset

Oulton Memorial Scholarship
Celebrates students who have demonstrated strong academic ability, leadership potential, volunteer work, extra-curricular activities, work experience, and good citizenship. We offer up to 28 scholarships of $1,000.00 to students enrolled in any of our programs. New Brunswick Bursary
The maximum amount available to students for the New Brunswick bursary is $130 per week of study. To be eligible you must be enrolled in and maintain a full-time course load and your assessed need must be greater than the maximum student loans available.

Opportunities NB
ONB will present 12 awards of $1,000 each to New Brunswick students entering their first year of post-secondary education in the province. The bursaries are part of the new Opportunities NB Connects outreach initiative, which is designed to connect opportunities, promote New Brunswick, and mentor young entrepreneurs and students. NB Proud Awards Website

This Scholarship Program is part of the Wage Gap Action Plan of the Province of New Brunswick.
