Program Overview

Supply Chain Management - Global Logistics
In today's competitive environment, managing the supply chain and effectively controlling supply chain costs is critical for business. This has created a demand for employees with current skills and knowledge on how to effectively manage the supply chain using up-to-date tools, processes and technology.

This eight-month graduate certificate program provides you with a concentrated and coordinated approach to study the flow of goods and services from raw material suppliers to the final customer. This product flow will be reviewed from a global perspective, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of the international business process. You will learn using hands-on interactive methods, including case-studies, making your experience relevant and applied.

Skills
Throughout this program you will develop the following skills:

  • Project management
  • Critical thinking
  • Leadership
  • Teamwork
  • Analysis

Optional Work Term
Students meeting all academic requirements may have the opportunity to complete an optional work term(s) in a formal work environment. The work term(s) is similar in length to an academic semester and typically involves full-time work hours that may be paid or unpaid. In programs with limited work term opportunities, additional academic requirements and a passing grade on a communication assessment may be required for eligibility. Eligibility for participation does not guarantee a work position will be secured. Additional fees are required for those participating in the optional work term stream regardless of success in securing a work position.

Financial Planning

This eight-month graduate certificate program prepares you to become specialized in one of the fastest growing sectors in financial services. The curriculum will equip you with a skillset for working in client-facing and behind-the-scenes roles with banks; trust companies; insurance companies; and investment, wealth management and financial planning firms. You will also learn to manage your personal finances, provide financial advice to the public and pursue industry-demanded certifications.

Skills
Throughout this program you will develop the following skills:

  • Communication
  • Critical thinking
  • Financial planning
  • Interpersonal and relationship skills
  • Teamwork and collaboration

Field Placement
To support your learning, a field placement work experience must be completed. This experiential learning opportunity will provide you with the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills you learned in a financial planning setting, while also gaining valuable work experience.

This experience requires you to engage in a minimum of 140 hours of financial planning-related employment activities, either part time during your studies or full time at the end of the program. The field placement experience is an unpaid or paid position that is available to students who are in good academic standing with Seneca and who meet all identified requirements prior to participating in the field placement experience. While eligibility for participation does not guarantee that a field placement position will be secured, students are supported every step of the way by Seneca in locating, applying and obtaining a field placement experience with industry partners.
