The Department of Economics offers a wide range of undergraduate programs that are designed for motivated students who wish to excel. Graduates of these programs go on to pursue careers in many fields including business, finance, economics, government and public policy, international affairs, and law. Students who complete our Honors programs are well prepared for post-graduate study.

The Major in Financial Economics provide a strong foundation in economic concepts and tools, as well as their application to the real world economy and public policy. These modules are often combined with the study of another discipline as part of an Honors Double Major degree.

Scholarships for International Students

While the National Scholarship Program mentioned above requires a separate application, we also offer scholarships that students are automatically considered for, including the Welcome to Canada Admission Scholarship and the Continue in Canada Admission Scholarship.

Welcome to Canada Admission Scholarship: $10k CAD Continue in Canada Admission Scholarship: $40k CAD
The Welcome to Canada Admission Scholarship is valued at $10,000 CAD. All students completing high school outside Canada who are applying for first-year full-time studies and are paying international student tuition and fees are eligible. No application required. Review full terms and conditions. The Continue in Canada Admission Scholarship is for international students currently completing secondary school in Canada on a study permit.

Value and inclusions:

  • $40,000 CAD over four years ($10,000 CAD per year)
  • Guaranteed residence for four years
These are available for any student who meets the eligibility requirements.
