Explore the actions of governments, judicial systems and political parties. Learn about important political movements and how power relations function. Become empowered by learning how the democratic process works.
Led by internationally renowned faculty, our program will encourage you to analyze social and political trends through rich, diverse courses that focus on global politics, political economy and power, international development and inequality, social justice, democracy and security. Our instructors are experts in areas such as Canadian politics, comparative politics, international relations, political theory, and women and politics.
We provide an open forum: You’ll be encouraged to engage in discussions with your instructors and fellow students about today’s most pressing political issues. Since none of us has all the answers, we emphasize conversation in which everyone’s ideas are taken seriously and critically.

Scholarships, Awards and Bursaries
There are limited scholarships and bursaries available to international students who are currently enrolled at York University. | Our entrance scholarships are available to domestic high school applicants admitted to a direct entry undergraduate program. This entrance scholarship is automatically applied, renewable at each year level, and can be regained when you recover the minimum required GPA. Recipients of this scholarship who elect to participate in an exchange program in years 2, 3 or 4 will also receive the York University Study Abroad Award, valued at $1,500. |

20 international awards valued at $180,000 ($45,000 x 4 years) The President's International Scholarship of Excellence will be awarded to international high school applicants who demonstrate academic excellence, commitment to volunteer work and extracurricular activities, and leadership skills.
