Graduates of the “Sustainability in Creative Industries (B.A.)” program are equipped with fundamental knowledge, skills, and methods to foster innovation in the creative industries by strategically developing projects and processes and position companies as well as public actors with a focus on socio-ecological challenges.

The program’s focus on communication, creative practice, and management enables graduates to confidently take on corporate management roles as well as engage in political advocacy and civil society thought leadership. Due to the program’s emphasis on practical design training, they can access and utilize knowledge systems to innovate across the entire creative value chain, from raw materials to future-oriented research and development.

Graduates possess the skills to develop sustainable business models and strategies for creative industries, accounting for market-relevant factors such as digitalization, globalization, and environmental constraints. With core competencies in sustainable management, they are well-prepared to address the specific needs of the creative sector as it steers towards socially responsible value creation.

Practical orientation
The curriculum fosters a holistic understanding of sustainability challenges in the creative industries, integrating communication, design, systemic thinking, and production management. Graduates can recognize, assess, and address these challenges from multiple perspectives, ranging from micro-level local industries to macro-level geopolitical contexts. The receive up-to-date teaching on the impact of digitization and artificial intelligence on creative business development and products which enables them to drive technological disruptions in the pursuit of sustainability goals.

We encourage and support students in developing their personal thematic focus and gain practical experience in areas such as design, communication, or management. This individualized approach conveys expertise in specific career paths, including, but not limited to, positions like experience designer, creative strategist, trend researcher, innovation manager, or entrepreneur.
