Are you an ambitious singer or instrumentalist, based in music notation, who is keen to develop a sustainable career in music? This performance-focused music degree will train you as a flexible performing musician across a variety of genres and styles.

You'll explore classical, jazz, and popular music, while focusing on your own musical interests and identity. You’ll also receive specialist, small-group coaching from our expert staff of practising musicians.

Across the course, we provide a wide range of training and experiences, designed to ensure your success as a performer in the real world.

This music performance degree enables you to develop key professional skills and an impressive CV of evidence and experience that appeals to employers, preparing you for a range of different careers in the music industry.

In particular, we train you in:

  • Advanced musicianship
  • Advanced performance technique in one of five specialist areas: Voice, Woodwind/Brass, Drums/Percussion, Guitars, or Piano/Keyboards.
  • Interpretation and performance practice of a variety of musical styles
  • Improvisation techniques
  • Advanced ensemble musicianship

In addition to the above, you’ll have the opportunity to widen and strengthen your skill set as a musician to broaden the scope of your career. You’ll get the chance to choose from modules that explore:

  • Recording and documenting music
