Program Overview

While you work towards this qualification, you’ll develop a broad understanding and awareness of the issues, concepts, ideas and theories that relate to education. We’ll work with you to identify your own interests in the field of inclusion and special education – supporting you to work towards your own personal career goals.

You’ll explore a range of inclusion and special educational needs issues, including specific profiles like ASD, attachment, ADHD, mental health and dyslexia. You’ll also develop your own personal values and philosophies, while debating the opportunities and challenges for inclusion.

Lectures are interactive with plenty of discussion – which is often built upon group tasks, case studies and scenarios. You’ll be encouraged to develop your own perspective on inclusion and special educational needs, as well as broader educational issues linked to social justice and sustainability.You’ll make links between theory and practice both within the taught content and assignments, and while you’re on placement.

    Merit Scholarships
    This merit scholarship is a tuition fee waiver designed to reward academic excellence or, a strong creative portfolio, or relevant work experience (where required). For undergraduate students, the scholarship holds a value of £7,500, distributed over the three years of study (£2,500 each year) as a tuition fee waiver. Graduate students will receive a £5,000 scholarship.
