Program Overview
Undergraduate Foundation Programme in Engineering and Sciences
The Undergraduate Foundation Programme in Engineering and Sciences is a preparation programme for international students who don’t meet the direct entry requirements for an undergraduate degree at the University of Strathclyde. This pathway will prepare you for your chosen undergraduate degree at the Faculty of Engineering or Faculty of Science. Once you successfully complete the programme, you will progress to the second year of a four-year undergraduate degree.
You will study three core modules that will focus on general skills useful in your progression degree, plus route modules specific to your academic area.
Once you have completed the Undergraduate Foundation Programme, and subject to satisfying the progression criteria, you can proceed to the second year* of your four-year degree at the University.
Leading to: Prosthetics and Orthotics BSc (Hons)
- study on the only four-year Prosthetics and Orthotics course in the UK accredited by the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics
- gain clinical experience with patients in both prosthetics and orthotics throughout your studies
- access to state-of-the-art technology in gait analysis and scanning systems
- one of only two such degrees in the UK approved by the Health and Care Professions Council
- benefit from access to departmental scholarships

Scholarships For Your Pathway Programme and University Degree:
If you are a self-funded student, you could be eligible for a combined scholarship from the University of Strathclyde International Study Centre and the University for your pathway programme as well as your undergraduate or postgraduate study.
How do I get a Scholarship?
International Study Centre scholarships are available for the Undergraduate Foundation Programme , International Year One BBA and Pre-Masters Programme. These scholarships are awarded on a first come, first served basis and are subject to availability. You must request the scholarship when applying for your pathway programme .
Once you progress from the International Study Centre, the University of Strathclyde then awards scholarships each academic year upon achieving 60%.
