Graduates of the program will:

• Practice within the ethical, legal, and regulatory frameworks of nursing and standards of professional nursing practice
• Facilitate the delivery of patient care and collaboration with multidisciplinary members of the healthcare team to achieve continuity of care and practice patient outcomes throughout the lifespan
• Promote health-related education to maintain and/or restore health and achieve optimal wellness throughout the lifespan
• Utilize current evidence-based practice as a basis for clinical judgment and nursing practice
• Provide quality care by identifying and minimizing risk factors to maintain a safe environment for patients, self, and others
• Facilitate quality improvement by developing and participating in the plan of care that provides positive healthcare and safety-related outcomes
• Utilize information technology as a communication and information-gathering tool that manages knowledge, supports clinical decisions, and evidence-based practice
• Promote the provision of caring and compassionate, culturally sensitive care that is based on a patient’s diverse needs, preferences, and values throughout the life span
• Use leadership skills in the provision of safe, quality patient care within the scope of nursing practice
