A major in social science allows you to choose a field of focus from the division’s range of disciplines, including anthropology, geography, history, political science and sociology. Then, you can combine classes in sociology and anthropology, for example, to prepare for a career in social services. Or, you could mix geography and history courses for a position at a museum. Choose topics that appeal to you, and then chart your own path to your dream job as you see fit.

    Scholarships

    Western Oregon University does not have any designated or guaranteed scholarships for international students. However, once admitted, international students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale will automatically receive the Merit Scholarship. The amounts indicated on the site are annual and renewable annually. International students are also eligible to apply for two types of scholarships, General Scholarships and Departmental Scholarships. The application process includes submitting required documents and essays.
