Program Overview

The International Year is a 2-semester program, equivalent to a year's study of a bachelor's degree. This program has been specially designed to prepare international students for an undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. You will learn in a supportive environment, helping you to adjust to your new surroundings.

Your International Year program will be a combination of English for Academic Purposes courses to develop your English language skills, and route specific courses. Each of these courses has been specially designed to help you develop the skills required to help you succeed in your university degree.

Biology
Hone your critical thinking skills and round out your education with unique research opportunities when you pursue a bachelor of science degree in biology. As part of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s School of Science and Engineering, you’ll benefit from small classes led by award-winning faculty and hands-on research. Our undergraduate biology degree has six tracks, fitting a wide variety of student interests and career goals.

  • Cellular & Molecular Biology
  • Ecology
  • Integrative Biology
  • Marine Biology
  • Microbiology
  • Organismal Biology 

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of biology. You’ll also understand the scientific method and use it to develop and conduct biological experiments. As part of this degree, you’ll perfect your communication skills so you can successfully speak to a range of audiences about biological information.
