Program Overview

Computer Science is the study of the design and use of computer systems. The curriculum’s required courses give students a strong foundation in both the software and hardware aspects of computing, as well as the mathematics and science that underlie the discipline. The electives in the later years allow students to study a particular area of computer science in greater depth.

Data Science Option

Take courses in such topics as linear algebra, data mining, natural language processing and big data systems. You'll graduate prepared to become a data scientist with the ability to analyze and extract useful patterns from lots of data. This option also satisfies all requirements needed to receive a minor in Mathematical Sciences.

    Scholarships

    Undergraduate students, scholarship offerings are listed on the UMass Lowell (UML) website. The majority of UML scholarship funding is in the form of new student merit based scholarships. Your eligibility for these scholarships is determined at the time you are accepted for admission through matriculation. There is no separate application.If you are eligible, you will receive a letter notifying you of your eligibility for a merit based scholarship along with your acceptance.
