Optional Practical Training (OPT) for International Students in USA

OPT or Optional Practical Training allows international students in the US to work in their field of study temporarily. It is authorized by USCIS to provide practical work experience related to their major.

Eligibility
Students must have a valid F-1 visa and be enrolled full-time at a U.S. institution for at least one full academic year to be eligible for OPT.

Application Process
Students should request OPT through their designated school official (DSO) who will provide the necessary paperwork and guidance for the application process.

Duration
OPT allows graduates to take up full-time employment of up to 12 months which students can use during or after completing their academic program.
