OSPAP Course requirements

The OSPAP is a course designed for international pharmacists who want to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) in the UK. Learn about the general requirements for the OSPAP course in the following slides.

Pharmacy degree
International pharmacists must have a pharmacy degree from a recognized institution. The degree should be equivalent to a UK pharmacy degree, and a regulatory body in the home country must accredit it.
English language proficiency
International pharmacists must be proficient in English, as the OSPAP course is taught in English. They must also provide proof of their English language proficiency by taking English language tests, such as IELTS or TOEFL.
Supervised practice
International pharmacists are required to complete a period of supervised practice in their native country. The length and nature of the supervised practice must be equivalent to the pre-registration training that graduates in the UK pharmacy receive.
Registration with the GPhC

International pharmacists must register with the GPhC before they can begin the OSPAP course. They must have good character, health, and English language proficiency, in all, meet the GPhC's eligibility criteria for registration.

Other requirements

There may be some other requirements set by some universities for admission to the OSPAP course, such as a minimum grade point average or specific coursework in certain areas.
