Student support

Learning Support: We offer free weekly one-on-one learning support sessions, which will help you to prepare for your assessments and exams. The Learning Centre runs a number of activities such as English language speaking groups, short film discussion groups, learning assistance sessions and teaching support. We also have 24/7 study support available through Studiosity.

Student Success Advisers: Our Student Success Advisers will give you support and advice on your studies and help you to meet course requirements. They can also help if you experience any personal difficulties that impact your studies. Students, including those on student  visas, have the same workplace rights as all other workers in Australia. The Fair Work Ombudsman provides free advice and support to all workers helping you understand your rights including pay and conditions, visa matters (if you are an international student) and help with workplace issues that might arise.

Writing feedback and 24/7 study support: All UTS College students have access to FREE 24/7 study support through Studiosity. You can get feedback on your written assignments or connect with a specialist anytime, anywhere for study support on a subject.

Mental health & counselling services: If you have difficulty adjusting to student life in Australia; experience culture shock, loneliness or sadness, you’re not alone. Help is available. Before issues or concerns start to impact your studies – you should talk to a professional.

If concerned about your academic progress, studies, finances or personal problems, a Study Success Adviser may help. There’s no need for an appointment. A drop-in service is available on Level 4, 187 Thomas Street, Sydney (Blue Building). Academic students can access this from 1pm till 4pm Monday to Friday and English students Monday to Friday 10.30am–12.00pm and 1pm–3pm. A UTS Counsellor is also on site every Tuesday to provide confidential counselling to UTS College students.

Mental health peer support: The TalkCampus app is a FREE mental health support service for all UTS College students. Get instant support for your mental health any time of day and night - from people all around the world, in 25 languages. It's a safe place to talk anonymously about whatever is on your mind. No bullying. No judgement. Just people who get you.

Sexual assault, indecent assault & sexual harassment: At UTS College, we want all members of our community; our students, teachers and staff to be safe from sexual assault and harassment. If you’re ever in a situation whereby you need help for sexual assault, indecent assault or sexual harassment, we strongly recommend you reach out for help and support.
