Massey Business School Promising Student Assistance Bursary

These bursaries were established in 2016 and are funded by the Massey Business School Development Fund. At least five bursaries will go to a student in each of the five schools, and one bursary each will be given to M?ori, Pasifika and international students.

  • Who we're looking for - We're looking for students who are facing financial hardship or other circumstances that may hinder them from progressing in their studies.
  • Eligibility criteria - You must be studying within the Massey Business School.


Application checklist

Include the following with your application:

  • a personal statement, of no more than 400 words, outlining your circumstances and future academic and career plans
  • a letter of support from a referee, either academic or character, speaking to the merits of your circumstances an academic transcript for any study completed outside of Massey University

Selection considerations - When choosing our recipients, we will consider your financial need and academic achievements. We may also consider your good character.

Colin Aiken Plant Breeding Bursary

This bursary was established in 2015 to promote plant breeding as a career. It was set up in association with South Pacific Seed Sales (NZ) Ltd with funds provided by royalties from sales of the Super Kumi hybrid variety of kumi kumi in acknowledgement of Colin Aiken who produced the variety. Mr Aiken died in 2017.

  • What you'll be studying - This is an undergraduate or postgraduate scholarship. Preference may be given to New Zealand citizens, though students of other nationalities will be considered
  • Eligibility criteria - You must be studying full-time in a subject area related to plant breeding.

  •  Your CV
  •  A supporting statement outlining your interest in pursuing a career in plant breeding
  •  A budget outlining your annual expenses and any predicted earnings, including any awards and scholarships held to date
