IELTS Writing Task 2 – Band 5 Sample Answer
Because it has so many diverse meanings to different people, happiness is extremely difficult to describe. While some individuals associate happiness with money and material achievement, others believe it to be rooted in feelings and devoted interpersonal connections.
Others, however, believe that the only path to true happiness is through spiritual paths rather than the material world or interpersonal interactions.
It is challenging to provide a universal definition of happiness given how differently people define it for themselves. However, if there are different types of happiness for different people, then having some level of self-awareness would be the first step in reaching it.
Before a person can figure out what makes him or her happy, they must first understand who they are.
Of course, other elements that affect our happiness include loving relationships, sound health, the ability to make a living, and tranquil surroundings. However, this does not imply that those who do not meet these requirements cannot be happy.
Overall, I believe that maintaining clear perspectives in life is a more crucial component of pleasure. That refers to the capacity to distinguish between what is significant in our life (such as our families' well-being, the caliber of our relationships, making other people happy, etc.) and what is not (a problem at work, getting annoyed about trivial things, etc.).
This is also incredibly challenging to attain, much like self-awareness, but I believe these are the two elements that may be the most crucial for reaching pleasure.

IELTS Writing Task 2 – Band 7 Sample Answer
Everyone wants to be happy in life, yet surprisingly, everyone has different prerequisites for happiness. This is the major factor behind how difficult it is to define happiness. To be happy in life, there are a few things that everyone agrees are essential.
It can be difficult to define happiness because there are no set rules for how to get there. A very wealthy man dreams about having a loving family to be happy, whereas someone else thinks that his financial freedom will make him happy. Similarly, a couple without children constantly fantasizes about starting a family and would go to any lengths to make it happen.
On the other hand, many impoverished families, especially in developing nations, realize that having additional children adds to their load. Humanity desires more than they have, and the real world is really perplexing. When a person's goal or expectation is met, he or she wants more, and this cycle repeats indefinitely. Because of this, happiness is not a straightforward concept that lends itself to a tidy description.
However, several important elements are frequently recognized as the key components of happiness in life. First and foremost, being healthy—both physically and mentally—is crucial for happiness, something that becomes abundantly clear to those who are ill. Economic independence, or the capacity to meet one's wants, is, in my opinion, the second most crucial component of happiness.

It's a common adage that you can't be content when you're hungry. Thirdly, it's thought that living in peace requires having a happy family where everyone loves and cares for one another. It is uncommon to come across a contented person who does not have a loving family. Individual liberty is regarded as having a significant impact on happiness in life.
Without personal freedom, happiness is impossible to experience. Most significantly, the secret to happiness is to be content with life. A person will be happy in life if he or she can be content with whatever little they have.
In conclusion, even though there is no clear-cut definition of happiness, it is generally agreed that having qualities like good health, a loving family, freedom, and personal contentment are necessary for happiness in life.

IELTS Writing Task 2 – Band 9 Sample Answer
A quality that heavily influences how people spend their lives is happiness. One of the main goals of a person's life, if not the only one, is to lead a happy and fulfilled lifestyle. It is challenging to pinpoint a specific cause of joy or the meaning of the word itself because it might differ greatly from person to person due to unique tastes. However, several factors in a person's life have an impact on how much joy they experience.
The first and most important thing to realize is that every person has their definition of happiness. What may be happy to one person may be boring or even unpleasant to another. The underlying character of humans, which essentially varies from person to person, is the cause of such variation. Being around loved ones can bring great joy, however, for many people, this kind of happiness can only be attained via the use of ostentatious things and bourgeois customs.

Nevertheless, some options significantly improve people's overall quality of life. It is important to prioritize maintaining one's physical and mental health before pursuing happiness. Before chasing economic or even abstract pleasures, one should appreciate the benefits of living a strong lifestyle that includes physical activity, balanced food, and social interaction. A level of joy not found anywhere else can also be attained by helping and being friendly to family, friends, and strangers alike.
Finally, the human race will never fully understand where the source of true contentment lies. But to live a naturally happy life, we must simultaneously take good care of those around us and ourselves.
