Study Plan to Crack IELTS Exam in 15 days
Understand the Structure:
Understanding the structure of the IELTS exam is very important. You can understand this structure by going through the online mock tests and various books related to IELTS. It has four sections, namely, Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. Go through each section and note the time limit, number of questions, difficulty levels and grading patterns.
Practice one module at a time:
Don't try to solve different IELTS sections in a single day; you might get confused and not be able to remember things clearly. Try to give two days to each section. Working on one section for two days will help you master a particular section, clarify confusion, learn about the question patterns and increase your speed of question-solving. You can devote your first two days to listening, the next two days to reading and the following couple of days to writing and speaking.
Master the IELTS Reading Section
The IELTS reading section consists of 40 questions and their difficulty level increases with every passing question. In the reading section, you are not required to read the whole passage but skim and scan through the passage and identify the main keywords in the passage to answer the questions. Also in this section, you are not required to read and understand the whole passage; the most important thing is that you should answer correctly with right spelling. Devoting two days to the IELTS reading section and solving several mock tests will help you understand the pattern of the questions that come in the exam and learn the strategies you require to solve all questions in provided time duration.
Master the IELTS Listening Section
You can improve IELTS listening skills through active listening only. Listen to various audio clips available online and familiarize yourself with the different accents and tones. You can listen to English news, podcast and English radio programs. Try practicing solving the mock tests. If you don't understand the speaker's accent and message and score poor while practicing for the test, try to listen to the same recording again and then answer the questions. It will help you understand the speaker's accent in a much better way, and will adapt you with their style of speaking, make you understand them more efficiently and allow you to answer questions confidently. When you are practicing listening for the first time, listen to the whole audio clip without the motive of answering the question, but to make yourself familiar with accents and tones. Two days of rigorous preparation may help you master the listening section quite effortlessly.
Master the IELTS Speaking Section:
The IELTS Speaking test takes between 11 and 14 minutes and consists of an interview between the test taker and a trained and certified examiner. It has three parts, viz. Introduction and Interview, Individual long term and Two-way discussion. You can prepare for the IELTS speaking section by speaking to a fluent English Speaker. You might not speak correct initially, but as you will speak, read more books, and listen to other’s speaking, you will master the art of speaking well. It is a time-consuming process, and you may not be able to master speaking in two days. If you are extremely good at English, there are chances that you may perform well after practicing for two days. Speaking to fluent English speakers and taking realistic feedback may help improve your speaking skills.

Master the IELTS Writing Section:
To prepare for the writing section, you need to practice writing and read more stuff to get additional ideas and sharpen your imagination. In order to score well in IELTS writing, it is crucial to understand the format. Try solving several mock tests before the exam and ask for feedback on your writings from a master in the language. You can refer to some books and online material to read and gain new ideas on the IELTS writing exam topics. The more the ideas, the better it is for you! Reading will not just enhance your reading skills but will also impact your performance in all the other IELTS sections.
