One Year Specialization: Business Analysis, Intelligence and Analytics

The practices of business analysis, intelligence, and analytics enable you to understand, manage and deliver value with data.

While business analytics uses statistical and quantitative tools for explanatory and predictive modeling, business intelligence collects data to find information through questions, reporting, and analytical processes. This program combines leadership training with three complimentary disciplines. This enables you to successfully evaluate performance, identify inadequacies, and implement solutions in an organization.

What you will learn
The focus is on business analysis, business intelligence, and analytics.

  • Analytics tools and strategies - Strategic implications of applying the techniques of business analytics to support the decision-making in an organization.
  • Technology and programming - Apply analytical tools and technology applications to develop analysis and solutions to address organization needs.
  • Modeling - Construct business analysis and translate the findings to support decision-making.
  • Management - Business and management principles to problem-solve organizational challenges.
  • Business analysis - Review of enterprise-wide functions and processes.
  • Leadership - Deepen your own practice, while developing and fostering a multi-dimensional view of leaders and leadership.

One Year Specialization: Occupational Health and Safety

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is a growing field with strong career prospects due to increasing regulations, awareness of workplace safety, and the need for organizations to ensure employee health and safety. This comprehensive program combines two Occupational Health and Safety certificates with a Change Management certificate, offering a robust skill set for those looking to enhance workplace safety and lead organizational change.

The two OHS certificates lay the groundwork for careers in OHS, covering essential topics such as safety regulations, risk management, and human behaviour in emergency situations. As the program progresses, you will build on this foundation by focusing on mid-level technical tasks and advanced safety strategies. You'll dive into topics such as workplace hazard analysis, safety audits, and the creation of prevention strategies, positioning yourself to tackle complex safety challenges in diverse settings.

As a complement to the OHS training, you will also learn the various aspects of change management. This will provide the skills to lead people and organizations through transitions. The ability to guide teams through change while achieving organizational goals will make you a versatile leader in any workplace.

What you will learn

  • Safety frameworks: Utilize OHS management systems to foster a culture of safety through regulations, enforcement guidelines, and compliance practices.
  • Safety performance: Identify and assess safety benchmarks, collect data, and investigate workplace safety concerns to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Human factors: Evaluate human behaviour during accidents and emergencies, considering decision-making processes, communication strategies, and adherence to organizational procedures.
  • Risk controls: Design hazard prevention strategies and implement risk management programs that promote employee health, safety compliance, and organizational standards.
  • Change strategies: Frameworks and tools, to plan and manage the change process.
  • Facilitate change: Technique and tactics to enable change through engaged processes.
