Program Overview

Students in SCC’s CAD and drafting programs will learn to use a variety of in-demand software: AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture, AutoCAD Electrical, Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk Inventor, Revit, and SolidWorks.

You will be introduced to the types of drawings you might produce for specialized industries, like architectural drafting, civil engineering, electrical and electronics drafting, and mechanical drafting. Students will develop:

  • Technical Skills: Graduates will be able to use industry-standard CAD software to develop architectural, civil, and/or mechanical drawings in a manner that is efficient and compliant with standard industry practices.
  • Analytical Skills: Graduates will be able to understand customer specifications, evaluate design requirements, and interpret building codes, blueprints, manuals, specifications, and/or shop drawings.
