Counselling Service - The Counselling Services offered to HELI Students through the Converge International Program provides professional counselling support in all areas of study, work and life. Services provided when you access the Youth and Student Helpline, you will speak with a qualified, experienced counsellor across a range of issues including:
- Study, work and personal stress
- Homesickness and transition to life in Australia
- Personal and workplace relationships
- Emotional difficulties
- Communication and relationship tension, conflict and breakdown
- Sexual harassment and sexual assault
- Grief and loss
- Sleep and fatigue
- Gambling, drug, alcohol and other addictions
- Anger and violence
Contact Converge - For immediate support anywhere in Australia you can also contact Beyond Blue (phone, chat online and email services available). In an emergency, Lifeline provides 24-hour telephone and online chat crisis support.
Disability Services - HELI's campuses are accessible to students with disabilities. The College provides reasonable adjustments for students with disabilities.
Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault - HELI has zero tolerance for sexual assault and harassment. We maintain the right of every student and staff member to feel safe and respected at all times on HELI campuses. HELI is committed to supporting students and staff affected by sexual assault or harassment, regardless of where and when it takes place.
Library Help Desk - Library staff are available to assist students with their library research. Library staff offer face-to-face and online training sessions and individual support to teach students how to use the library resources. The library staff can also assist with queries on library catalogue, copyright, referencing and academic integrity. Library staff work closely with teaching staff to provide in-class library training sessions and resources tailored to assessment tasks.
Student Learning Support - Student Learning Support at HELI aims to improve the academic experience for all students by supporting and motivating you to do the best work you can and by developing skills for succeeding with your academic studies and improving your job-readiness. Our academic support is delivered via the following three main channels: online academic skills resources, individual and small group consultations, and in-class skill development.
