The Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) caters for students who have demonstrated outstanding potential in the field of science. This degree follows the Bachelor of Science degree, giving you the opportunity to engage in research early by taking one Advanced Studies course each trimester.

You'll undertake a major research project and be individually guided and mentored by one or more of our outstanding scientific researchers. In your final year, you'll complete an honours project in your chosen specialisation. It explores hoe the organisms that shape environments, and those that interact strongly with people, live and function. It explores zoology as relevant for understanding the roles of diverse animals in a healthy ecosystem, or their vulnerability to change and disturbance. An applied dimension of the course is an examination of the organisms, the processes involved, and management options, where species are over-abundant,stable, or of increasing scarcity.
